With his signature flamboyance and positive attitude, Little Richard rose to fame in the mid-1950s when he innovated a new musical genre that combined rock and roll sounds with soul and funk rhythms.
It was nominated for: Peabody Award, Grammy Award for Best Music Film, Dorian Award for LGBTQ Documentary of the Year, 2023

SATURDAY EAST COAST PREMIERE!
POWER BALLAD
March 21, 2026 - 7:00 pm
District Music Hall - 71 Wall Street
Paul Rudd AND Nick Jonas on the big screen in NORWALK!
Norwalk Film Festival is excited to announce that Saturday, March 21st, at 7:00pm we will be screening the EAST COAST PREMIERE of Power Ballad, fresh off of it's North American premiere the week prior at SXSW. This screening gives you access to see the film before it's national theatrical release in June!
Directed by acclaimed Irish filmmaker John Carney (Once, Begin Again, Sing Street), Power Ballad stars Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas in a feel‑good story about music, friendship, and ambition.
In the film, Rick (Paul Rudd) is a past-his-prime wedding singer who meets Danny (Nick Jonas), a fading boy band star. The two bond over music during a chance encounter, but when Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into a hit that reignites his career, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves—even if it risks everything he cares about.

Sunday Feature Screening
BLOOM
March 22, 2026 - 1:00 pm
District Music Hall - 71 Wall Street
The Norwalk Film Festival is excited to announce the first screening of our 2026 Festival; the feature documentary, Bloom. For the second year in a row, we are partnering with Fairfield County's Community Foundation to present a social impact documentary.
Bloom explores the vital role doulas play in bridging medical gaps and offering educated advocacy that safeguards against trauma. The work of doulas can be life-saving, especially for Black Birthing parents. In a climate of challenging reproductive care, Bloom celebrates those transforming healthcare, making it accessible and positive.
The event will also include a nonprofit open house and a moderated discussion with local leaders working at the intersection of community-based care and public policy.
Bloom will screen on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the District Music Hall. Tickets are available for the screening specifically OR as part of the festival weekend pass.
