Introduction for the Norwalk Film Festival Intern
I’m Alexis Rosa! I’m 27 years old, an Aries, and love a good book! I am working as an intern for the Norwalk Film Festival for the Fall 2025 semester. I am currently enrolled at CT State Norwalk in my last semester before I graduate with an associate degree in Communications: Journalism. I plan on getting my bachelor’s degree once I land a job!
I graduated high school in 2016, this is my second go at college. I did one semester at CT State Norwalk after high school and decided it wasn’t for me at that moment. I started working at a hair salon and fell in love with that industry. So I went to cosmetology school and got my hair license. I worked in hair salons for five years but then again felt like I needed a change. It led me back to CT State Norwalk to finish my associate degree and it has been the best decision I have made so far in my life. My second go around at college has been life changing. It led me to a degree I’m passionate about. I have enjoyed all my classes and have had great professors. Just a reminder: IT’S NEVER TOO LATE!
I have always loved films, TV shows, books, and pop culture. Going to the movie theater is something I have always loved to do. I still try to make it to the theater once a month to watch a new movie that has come out. I love supporting films by seeing them in theaters on the big screen! I got introduced to independent film last semester when I took a course focused on it. I enjoyed every film we watched and realized how important independent film is. That’s why I’m happy I landed an internship with the Norwalk Film Festival because their mission is important. Showcasing independent filmmakers and their stories in a small community!
I will be making future blog posts, be on the look out for them!
